Teacher in My Soul

There is a teacher in all of our souls which serve as a guiding compass in life. We just have to learn to listen to it. It’s growing hard to do so in a world where like Hansel and Gretel, our soul is constantly being fed by the unruly voices that tell us to feed our desires again and again.

The next thing we know, our soul’s too fat to make an escape from any wicked witch that’s out on the hunt.

If we’re constantly plugged into Spotify, Netflix, Youtube and others which keep drowning us with all the noise how could we possibly hear anything else inside us? We need to empty ourselves from these voices and starve the soul every now and then for it to detox.

Being more aware of what we consume into our heart is a good start. Just like the food that we eat, we are the music, films, and books that we consume too. They serve us our teachers whether we care to admit it or not.

One of my favorite songs to reflect on is the following by Eddie Vedder: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Mwx3RvDWvDM

Guaranteed has such a powerful message which calls us to ponder on some really important life questions. I would have a few more posts covering my thoughts on the other verses of the song throughout the week.

Please take a minute to listen to the song and share me your thoughts on its lyrics. 🙂
